Sumrall, MS 39482-0960 Bio: For more than 35 years, Randy Rice has worked with landowners in Mississippi and Louisiana overseeing clients’ properties according to their needs, which range from investment to recreational use.
Rice began his career with Forest Owners, Inc., a forestry services cooperative in Yazoo City, Mississippi, in 1972 and in 1986 became sole proprietor of the business. Since then, he has built up his company’s client base by building long-standing business relationships with landowners, many of whom have been his clients for more than 30 years. He provides consulting services to private, non-industrial timberland owners, and also manages the sale and purchase of property for clients.
Rice is especially knowledgeable in the management of hardwood timber and Longleaf pine, but his background has given him experience in all major timber types found in Mississippi. He has worked with hardwood timber in virtually all river basins in the state and manages a large acreage of Longleaf pine in the Hattiesburg area, using both even-aged and uneven-aged management techniques.
His experience managing land and timber investments as well as recreational properties will be invaluable to you in locating the ideal property for your long-term investment or recreational goals.
Randy is a 1972 graduate of the School of Forestry at Louisiana Tech University. He is licensed by the State of Mississippi as a Registered Forester and as a Real Estate Broker. He is also a Certified Burn Manager in Mississippi.
In 2006 Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour appointed Rice to serve on the Mississippi Board of Registration for Foresters. Rice represents Southeast Mississippi on the seven-member board. He is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, having served as chairman of the Mississippi Chapter. Other memberships include the Hattiesburg Area Association of Realtors, Society of American Foresters, Mississippi Forestry Association, the Longleaf Alliance, as well as other forestry related organizations.
